Race Notes:

Inaugural Iron Lung Beer Mile Championships took place under perfect conditions in North Vancouver, British Columbia. 15 competitors, including 11 new "beer milers" took up the challenge.

Race organizer, and veteran of 14 previous Beer Mile races, Eric Langhjelm ran to victory in a new personal best of 6:29. 2002 Gemini Beer Mile Champion Jon Silcock came a close second in 6:48, while Paul Purin rounded out the top three with a solid 6:53.

These results bode well for the upcoming Gemini Beer Mile champs on Sept 12.
