Once again there were perfect conditions for the imperfectly conditioned to test their beer-miling prowess. State 10-mile champ Ben Reynolds honoured us with a visit and finished with a 63 second final lap (you can time it on the video). Two other rookies took the race by storm, Johan Anestad of Quakertown, PA recording an NJ all-comers record of 6:02. The swift Swede has a 3:57 1500m to his credit. Norbey Gonzalez took the state title with an NJ record of 6:29, proceeding immediately afterwards to attempt a lap walking on his hands. Megan Brady took the ladies title with a much improved sub-19 run, managing to hold the beer down perfectly. Thanks go to chief timekeeper Andy Vogel, and to everybody else who showed up.
