Race Notes:
This was the world championship race. Race results are unofficial until August 6th.
Men's Nation Competing: USA, Canada, Australia, England, Scotland, Germany, Norway and Sweden
Women's Nations Competing: USA, Canada, England, Germany and Sweden
Men's National Team Scores: USA (14), Canada (19), Sweden (38) Norway (39), Australia (42), England* (43), Germany (63)
Women's National Team Scoring: USA (5), Canada (9), Sweden (14), Germany 18
Some Notes on Team Scoring: Men Scored 3 per nation. Nations had to declare 5 runners. Jeff Mountjoy and Gabe Ghiglione did not score for Canada. They were not declared scorers. Scoring Mountjoy and Ghiglione did not effect the final team postitions. England declared Polly Keen (6:51) as their third runner, since the English women did not declare a team
Corey Bellemore's time was third fastest ever, behind his two former world records, This race was run on a dirt/clay track, so this time would have been very close on another surface.
Secondary Note:
We reinstated Peter Eriksson. This created a tie between Norway and Sweden for third. Overall Time of scorers was used as tiebreaker. Sweden won by virtue of faster combined team time (17:38 to 17:41)
