Race Notes:

The 409 Crew descended upon the track with a mission: establish a new world record in the 4x40 Beer Relay. Each man would chug a 40oz Bud Ice. then sprint one lap around the track. And on this day, destiny would smile upon these brave men.

Total Time: 24:23

1. Peter Lum Hee - 5:12
(beer - 2:54, lap - 2:18)
2. Jeff Richey - 10:33
(beer - 6:42, lap - 2:19, penalty lap - 1:32)
3. Alex Karkanis - 4:32
(beer - 2:50, lap - 1:42)
4. Ryan Boudreaux - 4:06
(beer - 2:34, lap - 1:32)

Overall, a fun relay and a great learning experience. Peter learned not to drink a yogurt smoothie before the race, while the rest of us learned a Brazilian meat buffet is not a good way to prepare for the event.

A big shout out to Boudreaux who killed it on the anchor leg, Alex who had a great 3rd leg, and Peter for setting the pace. As for Jeff (that's me), he sucked, and he puked.

As great as this result was, we'll be back as we continue to lower the world record 4x40 Beer Relay pace.
