Beer Mile North American Classic

The inaugural Beer Mile North American Classic, presented by Urban Chestnut Brewing Company.

Road beer mile, taking place outside Urban Chestnut in The Grove (St. Louis, Missouri).

Unique race format - the women and men raced together, with the women receiving a 1:15 head start. The men were not able to catch Elizabeth Laseter or Melanie Pozdol. Elizabeth tied her personal best from the track and set a new road beer mile world record. Melanie set a new personal best.

Hayden Bunnel took the men's title, followed closely by Joe Kehoe and Chris Robertson.

The team competition was tight, coming down to a tiebreaker. The Chicago Beers (Melanie Pozdol, Chris Robertson, Claire Purcell) squeezed out the title by 0.8 seconds over Team New England (Hayden Bunnell, Michael Cunningham, Maxime Lapierre). The local team, St. Louis, rounded out the team podium.
