This shiggy beer mile was be run on an accurately measured (using a Rolatape measuring wheel) off-road 1/4 loop with regulation 10-meter transition area. The loop was marked with a continuous line of flour to ensure that runners completed the full course, and included "shiggy" barriers such as mud, deadfall (fallen trees), heavy brush, briers, poison ivy, and uneven footing. There were four timer/observers.
