Most participants were already intoxicated before the event, due to the Saskatchewan Roughriders CFL football game concluding just before the race.

- The lone female competitor, Amanda Ruller, ran an 11:06 chocolate milk mile
-most (but not all)competitors were required to complete a penalty lap
